From Shane, thoughts on how this could work
We could have teams of two and allow four fish per team. Allowing the open mouth for judgement of pictures would be less of a headache. Each member from each team would be required to register at least one fish, this would be more competitive and help to assure the teammates are working together.
We also could have a draft for teams with those more knowledgeable paired with others who maybe don’t fish as much. This would also help others learn from people who they may not fish with otherwise and hopefully lead to more fellowship. This format would eliminate the issue of having shuttles, as I believe most kayakers would load two kayaks in one truck and leave the other at the desired pickup location of there choice. The hours of fishing could be from 7-2 but back at destination by 3.
The destination would be at the Lions Park on the Wisconsin side that has plenty of available parking. I would suggest having the tournament in August or September due to the fluctuating water tables in the earlier months. Plenty of camping and hotels in the area. Either fishing license ( MN/WI ) is acceptable on the river.
