CAPTAIN’S MEETING

Friday, June 12, 2020. 3:00 PM. Video Captain’s meeting will be released in the MNKFA Facebook group. There will be NO gathering for a Captain’s meeting at a physical location meeting prior to fishing. You are responsible for viewing and understanding the rules. The identifier will be released Friday at 3:30 pm for you to print. The code that you will hand write on the identifier will be released at 7:00 am Saturday, June 13, 2020, right before fishing starts. Bring a pen or Sharpie to handwrite the code on your printed identifier. Printed identifiers will be available for pickup at the Paradise Park shelter from Grant at 6:30 am if you don’t have access to a printer.

FISHING WATERS & LAUNCH POINTS

Fishing is limited to South Lindstrom Lake and Chisago Lake. See red outline on the map below. You MUST launch at one of the three designated launches (black boxes), see map below. If you launch anywhere else, you will be disqualified. Fishing will start at 7:00 am when the identifier code is released. We encourage you to get to your launch early, get on the water and be ready to paddle to your fishing spot. You MUST stay within 200 yards of your launch until the identifier code is released at 7:00 am, don’t bunch together, observe social distancing. YOU MAY NOT FISH BEFORE 7:00 AM! We want you to get on the water early to alleviate pressure at the launches, please help. DO NOT START FISHING ANY TIME ON SATURDAY JUNE 13, 2020 UNTIL 7:00 AM, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!

1. Chisago Lake Boat Launch
60 parking spots. Will be busy. Get there early.

2. Beach Park Launch 15 parking spots.
Cart your yak to the water and launch. We’ve been told trailers can park on the street near the park. It is up to you to obey all parking rules in effect.

3. Paradise Park Launch 20 parking spots.
Cart your yak to the water and launch.

4. Chuckie Lundquist Park
Located across from Paradise Park. Get unloaded at Paradise Park, then park your vehicle at Chuckie Lundquist Park.

IF YOU HAVE A TRAILER THAT CAN CARRY MULTIPLE YAKS, PLEASE RIDESHARE!

Stay 6 feet from others at the launch. Do NOT gather in groups, comply with the Governor’s directive. Get your rig set up away from the launch and be ready to get launched and open space and time for others. We expect your cooperation and consideration for everyone’s safety.

7:00 am Saturday, June 13, 2020 Catch, photo and submit your pics to the Tourney X site. DO NOT START ANY FISHING EARLIER, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!

FISHING END TIME

2 PM Saturday, June 13, 2020, Tourney X will stop taking submissions at 2 pm, firm. No whining or complaining about connection or any problems. Once the cutoff time occurs, submissions are closed. Go ahead and take your time getting back to the launch, fish if you want, your catches are NOT valid for submission after Tourney X has closed submission time. The goal is to alleviate pressure and a rush at the launch to promote social distancing and safety.

PRIZE AWARDS

Saturday, June 13, 2020, after fishing has closed There will be NO post fishing gathering for non-top 20 finishers. If you’re in the top 20, go to Paradise Park and stay close to your vehicle and observe social distancing guidelines. KP, Grant and Tony will be there with the prizes for the top 20 finishers. Stay by your vehicle and one of the board members will come to you and verify you are in the top 20 and will explain the process for you to select your prize will work.

First place: 2020 Hobie Outback.

Brad and Debby Nelson from Hi Tempo will be there to present the kayak to the winner. Winner agrees to be in photos used in public relations and promotional releases for Hi Tempo and Hobie.

2nd to 20th place:

There will some be some sweet items for these finishers to select from at Paradise Park.

21st place through 75th place

You will be emailed a Vexan Fishing / Tackle Industries gift card. These will go out the week following the tournament.

*Interpretation of these rules will be left exclusively to tournament officials whose decisions are final. We (MNKFA) reserve the right to change or add rules to ensure the competition is fair and equal to all participants and sponsors.

Requirements: MNKFA tournaments are strictly catch and release. A Tournament control image will be supplied. The control image must be in the photo with your catch. Your photo must include a fish measuring device like a Hawg Trough or similar tournament-approved measuring device (see measuring requirements).  The ruler marks must be easily legible in your photo submission. The Control image and handwritten code must appear in each photo submitted. Failure to include this will disqualify your entry. Scoring: The tournament will feature Bass (both large and smallmouth only).  The longest combined length of FIVE (5) top bass WINS! You can upgrade your smallest fish submitted with a larger one at any time during tournament fishing hours.  Fish submissions should be submitted immediately after your catch via the Tourney X app. If you encounter any problems, text, call or contact Tony: tonymnkfa@gmail.com or text or call to 612-669-5759.

Event Details:  All top 20 winners MUST be present at the award ceremony or they forfeit any winnings.

Catch: All fish must be taken with a fishing rod, line and artificial lures on the day of the tournament during tournament fishing hours. You must remain in full compliance with law enforcement rules per the state you are fishing! Participants must fish from a human-powered kayak, NO OTHER BOAT TYPES ARE ALLOWED. Only ONE person may be in the kayak. No gas or electric motors are allowed (unless its an online event, all live events are human-powered only!)  Absolutely no other method will be permitted. All vessels must be classified as a kayak from the manufacturer.

Safety: We strongly suggest that a PFD be worn and have an audible signalling device. Kayakers must be in accordance with state regulations. Safe Kayaking conduct must be observed at all times. NO alcohol or controlled substance can be used or allowed in the kayak during tournament hours.

Sportsmanship: Sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation are expected from each angler. Any infraction of these fundamental sporting principles may be cause for disqualification. All participants must follow the DNR regulations in effect on the waters they are fishing.

Weather: Anglers are to exercise their own best judgment for safety when considering whether to fish or not. The launch may be delayed or cancelled due to unsafe conditions as determined by the tournament director.

Cheating Inquiries: The University of Minnesota will be handling lie detector tests. Any inquiries of cheating will be handled by Tournament Officials and the University of Minnesota Law practices. Polygraph tests may be used to settle any cheating disputes. Person(s) bringing allegations assumes all costs for any polygraph testing. Person(s) making any cheating allegations agrees that their name will be made public. MNKFA also may require winners to take a voice stress test, provided and conducted by the university analysis team to test and confirm winners authenticity to prove they followed all the rules

Prizes: An IRS 1099 form may be required to major prize winners.

Board Member Participation: Board members, employees of sponsors or owners of sponsor companies are eligible to register, sign-up and win any prizes and subject to all the same scrutiny as any other entrant. In other words, if they win honestly, honorably and according to the rules and law, they win and deserve the appropriate gains from their investment (entry cost).

Waiver: Submitting the form and payment is your agreement to the above rules, regulations, terms and conditions, liability acknowledgement, otherwise the angler is ineligible to participate. You MUST be over 18 years of age. Minors are eligible to participate only if accompanied 100% of the time during this event by a parent who signs a waiver for the minor.

Ties: All ties are at the tournament directors discretion. Ties will be decided by first fish, biggest fish and/or time submitted.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES COULD RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION AND FORFEITURE OF ANY WINNINGS.

Knowledge of these rules is the responsibility of each contestant. Failure to read these rules or ignorance of them is no excuse.
