Kayak fishing the Mississippi River is a unique, exciting, and beautiful experience.
If you’ve never experienced fishing the Mississippi River by Clearwater, Minnesota, this is your chance to be part of a special get together. You’ll be surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the river and its banks, but you’ll also have the comaraderie and companionship of other kayak anglers on the water. As you paddle along, you’ll have a good chance of catching your personal best smallmouth bass—and memories of great kayak fishing will last a lifetime! This stretch of the Mississippi River is one of the top 10 smallmouth fisheries in the United States.
The first float date is set — May 18th, 2024!

The float will be limited to the first 11 anglers that sign-up. This is not a competition — yeah, we’re competitive, but we all help each other out with the goal of everyone catching lots of tasty bass, a few pike, and maybe even a musky. These floats are GREAT for amateur anglers. We’re very laid back, and the experienced anglers will have you catching smallies in no time. We have lots of experienced anglers who try their first river float on the Mississippi, and they always come back. You do need to bring your own kayak. While a couple veterans use their pedal drive, it’s maybe best to leave the drive at home. Rocks and shallow spots are frequent even when the river is running high.
